Watercolour stripes with the Waterfront Stamp set!

Here's a really fun card thats quick and easy to make!  I used the long skinny line stamp from the Waterfront stamp set to make these stripes down the side of my card, and I think they look really cool!  From the bottom up I used: Crushed Curry, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugar Plum, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant. The dies I used for the words are from the "Celebrate You" framelit set.... these are currently a free "gift with purchase" when you spend $180 on Stampin'Up products (from our Sale-A-Bration catalogue of free items).

I love the way these stamps really do give a watercoloured look... as though they were painted with a brush or aqua pen.

I've included a product list below should you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself.... just click on the ones you want.

Back with more fun creations for you soon!

Video Tutorial - How to watercolour with the Waterfront Stamp set

If you've been following along on either my Instagram or Facebook Business Page you will have noticed I've been producing quite a lot of these watercoloured landscapes lately.  The reason for my sudden interest in these is simple..... we have a fabulous new stamp set called the "Waterfront" set, and it is perfect to create these lovely scenes.

Since I started showing these different scenes in various places, I have been inundated with requests to make a video tutorial to show how they are done. So this is the first one i have uploaded for you.... and although the video is longer than I would usually like (over 18 minutes) at least it does show my thought process as I am watercoloring.  This photo below shows the photograph I used as my reference when creating this scene.

I've had a few people tell me that they just enjoy watching someone colour or paint in this way, so hopefully you will enjoy it too. And maybe even have a go yourself... its very relaxing!  If you would like to purchase this stamp set (it's only $30!) or any other Stampin'Up supplies, please visit my Online Store to place your order.  Products are delivered straightly to your door, anywhere in Australia!

Video Tutorial: Creating Textured Backgrounds with Brusho and Bubble Wrap!

Hello crafty friends!  Today I have had LOTS of fun using our new Brusho Crystal Colours together with Bubble Wrap to make this super fun background!  It's so easy to do, and you dont even need lots of special tools or supplies. You will of course need Brusho in your choice of colours, along with good quality watercolour paper.  You will also need something to spritz water with (a spray bottle or Stampin' Spritzer) and some bubble wrap.

The look reminded me of dragon scales... and of course we have the perfect stamp bundle to go with that right now... the Magical Day stamp set and framelit bundle!  Perfect! I added some gold glitter flakes to my dragon because gold and dragons go together right??

The video shows you how easy this technique is to do.  I hope you give it a try!  Dont forget if you need any of the products shown in the video you can order them right here, using the SHOP NOW button.

Brusho classes this week - come and play with a totally new product

Every now and again a new product comes along that is really exciting.  Brusho Crystal Colours are one of those products.  What is Brusho?  Its vivid colour pigment in powder crystal form.  The fact that it is a powder opens up lots of creative possibilities.... and straight away that means its great for a class!

My Brusho classes will be held this week on Tuesday night at 7.30pm (16th) and Wednesday daytime at 11.15am (17th).  Im on the Central Coast and you are very welcome to join us... beginners welcome!  Address supplied when you book in.  Click HERE to book your spot.  Cost for this class will be $25 and you will make several projects to take home.

The card you see today isn't one we'll be making in class... but it does show yet another way to use Brushos.  This time i used Glossy Cardstock as my base.  I added Prussian Blue powder to the lower part of the cardstock and then spritzed it with water to allow it to spread across the paper.  I tilted the paper to move the colour around a bit.  Then added a little yellow powder to the base.  I blotted it a little with paper towel.  And then added my framelits from the Celebrate You framelit set.  The "Amazing" is cut from Whisper White cardstock, and the "You" is cut from Silver glimmer paper. As a final touch I added the silver embossed image from the Amazing you stamp set.

It just proves you dont have to add a lot of detail to a vibrant background... let the background speak for itself!

Why you need to add the Waterfront Stamp set to your next order....

Because, to be honest, this is an amazing stamp set!

Today I wanted to show you another card I made with the beautiful Waterfront stamp set, available in the current Occasions catalogue (2018).  I've made a couple of samples with this set before, but with this card I decided to step it up a notch and use the stamps in quite a different way.  Believe or not, this is actually a very quick card, and the watercolour look you can get with these stamps is quite amazing.  The whole piece took me around 10 minutes to produce, and I think you'll agree the effect is stunning!

So how did I do it?  Well there are plans for a tutorial to show you how.  And next month's technique class here in my home studio will focus on this stamp set - and includes teaching you how to use the stamps in this way.  So if you are close to the Central Coast then please sign up to the class... click HERE to let me know you are coming.  Here are the dates:

13th February @ 7.30pm
14th February @ 11.15am

You can see what other classes I have coming up by clicking the "Class and Event Schedule" tab above.  I'd love to see you at a class real soon!  But if you cant make it, then you might like to be part of my Online learners.  I have a YouTube channel where I share lots of ideas and tips, as well as teach "how to" videos.  So click HERE to visit my channel and make sure you hit the "SUBSCRIBE" button to be infomed when I have posted something new. One of a Kind Unicorn with the Magical Day Stamp set

Today I wanted to show you a cute Unicorn card I made with the Magical Day Stamp set a little while back.  I actually forgot that I hadn't posted this one.... and then realised my error today.  So I thought you might like to see it. Its actually the first card I made with this stamp set when I first got it... I couldnt wait to sit down and colour in this gorgeous creature (I used my Stampin' Blends markers). However when I first got it (it was a freebie from the Onstage training day) I only had the stamp set, not the framelits... so that meant that I had to cut her out by hand (AKA "Fussy Cutting") I cant begin to tell you how much nicer it is now to have framelits to cut her (and her friends) out!

Yep, thankfully its a bundle... which means that you can buy them both together... and there's a 10% saving when you buy them this way.  And right now, its Sale-A-Bration... so that means that if your order is over $90 you get to choose something awesome for free!  Actually thats the case for every $90 you spend, so you could in fact qualify for more than one free item!  Dont you just love this time of year!!??

Here is the Magical Day Bundle:

You can buy it in clear mount or wood mount.  To order, visit the Online Store by clicking HERE.  The store has loads of beautiful products to help you on your paper craft journey!  All you need is a credit card, and items are sent straight to your door!

Colour INKspiration Challenge this week

Today I took part in a Colour Challenge for a bit of fun. This is a facebook group set up that offers colour challenges every couple of weeks... the group is called the Colour INKspiration Challenges group.  This week the challenge is to use "Night of Navy" and "Lemon Lime Twist" and "Whisper White"... and we are also allowed to use metallics.  So I had to take part because these are such yummy colours!  I like the combo of Lemon Lime Twist with lots of other colours... most recently I paired it with black.  But I think the Navy makes the Lemon Lime Twist really sing!

For my background I used the Bokeh technique on watercolour paper... such an awesome technique and one I haven't used for a while.  I also added some Lemon Lime Twist ombre ribbon, and my sentiments are cut from the new "Celebrate You" thinlits... which are a free Sale-A-Bration set right now (free with a $90 purchase).   I used Whisper White, Silver Foil and Silver Glimmer paper for my words.   I finished the card off with the awesome self-adhesive sequins in Lemon Lime Twist.... aren they cute??

I really hope you enjoyed this little card today.... for me, the colours are just beautiful - you really cant go wrong!

The Petal Passion Suite from Stampin'Up makes stunning projects

If you are looking for a versatile and pretty suite of products then the new Petal Passion suite might be just the thing.  I got this set as part of my demonstrator pre-order and it is truly beautiful.

Today I've used several elements from the suite.  The roses are stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink, and then coloured with our Stampin' Blends (I've used Calypso Coral light and dark, and Old Olive Light and dark).  I then used the matching framelit to cut them out (awesome not to have to cut these out by hand!) The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I've used the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut out the square.  The background uses a new embossing folder called "Petal Pair"... its actually one of two in the set (as the name suggests).  I've also added some of the co-ordinating Petal Passion DSP to this card... this is a pack of Black and White papers with simply stunning images.  (This paper is included in the Paper share I am currently running... one spot left in the current share. If you are interested click HERE to see them all and then contact me)

You might notice there is some Calypso Coral shimmer ribbon on this card too... this is one of our FREE Sale-a-bration items you can get with your order at the moment!

This card came together quite quickly and I was happy with the result. Now Im starting to think about doing an Online class with it.... stay tuned for that!

I've included a product list for you below should you wish to purchase any of these items for yourself. And dont forget that right now every $90 you spend gets you a FREE item out of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue!   Visit the ONLINE STORE to see all the SAB items available!

Happy Stamping!
